The University of the West Indies, Mona - Western Jamaica Campus hosts the second biennial Caribbean Sustainable Cities Conference from November 16 - 18, 2022 at the Hilton Rosehall Resort and Spa, Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Adaptability and Resilience

In the context of this conference, a sustainable city is one that is purposefully designed to be resilient in all dimensions of development as it seeks to make life and living better for its current population without compromising the promise of future citizens to realize their full potential in a safe, secure and inclusive environment.

The three day affair is framed within the three thematic areas captured in the GS2 subtitle – namely: Environmental Sustainability, Safety and Security, and Technological Transformation.

Particularly against the background of the Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s conference will focus on the fundamental shift towards the centrality of digital technology in responding to the transformation and sustainability of cities in the Caribbean region.
